Setchell shares the laurels

King's Lynn Town manager Gary Setchell says he picked up his second managerial accolade of the campaign because his players are in a 'different class'.

In October Setchell collected his first Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South Manager of the Month Award and after a fantastic run in February of six wins on the spin, three coming away from home, he took the division's honours again.

February's results helped the Linnets close the gap on leaders Coalville Town to four points as they reignited their title challenge and Setchell hailed his players and backroom staff for their success and surge in form that has continued to help him avoid the proverbial 'manager of the month curse'.

Pictured collecting his honour at the Walks before his side's 2-0 win over Leek Town from League Vice President and FA Respect manager Phil Bradley, he said: "The players have been a different class to still be unbeaten in the new year over a 13 game period. So the awards are very pleasing as it's a reward not just for me but also for the players and staff of the football club."

In the Premier Division FC United of Manchester manager Karl Marginson picked up his first award of the season earlier this month before his side played Chorley. Skelmersdale United's Tommy Lawson won a remarkable fourth honour of the campaign in February and he was the first of the month's winning bosses to be recognised before Skem drew 1-1 with Warrington Town at the West Lancashire College Stadium.

Like Lawson and Marginson, Setchell was presented with an inscribed certificate recording his achievement and personalised items from the Errea benchwear range by the Evo-Stik NPL and sponsors Bostik, the parent company of league title sponsors Evo-Stik.
