Spalding older than they thought!

Plans to celebrate Spalding United’s centenary in three years have been shelved after it was discovered they were older than they thought.

Thought to have been formed in 1921, recent findings and painstaking research show that the Tulips were actually founded in 1905 - meaning their centenary year would have coincided with their first season in the Northern Premier League, back in 2004/05.
