Spotlight is back on the league!

By David Watters

Salford City are putting the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League back in the national spotlight despite their departure to the National League after winning May's top flight play-offs.

After BBC1 followed the Ammies to the EVO-STIK NPL First Division North title in last year's two part documentary Class of 92: Out Of Their League, the club was back on our screens on Thursday night in a second two part series charting last season's promotion winning campaign.

The first half of Class of 92: Still Our of their League, went out on BBC1 at 9pm as the Beeb's cameras returned to Moor Lane to follow the fortunes of the club's fans, players and famous owners in the EVO-STIK NPL's Premier Division.

Ex-Manchester United stars Neville brothers Gary and Phil, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt all feature again in their second season at the helm as joint managers Bernard Morley and Anthony Johnson, pictured, led the now National League North club on their run to the second round proper of the FA Cup before winning promotion.

Part 2 of the new series is on BBC1 at 9pm next Thursday night (September 1).
