Stadium sponsor keeps promise

Lincoln United chairman Ian Beaumont has hailed supporter Peter Jenkins after his travel firm kept their promise to sponsor the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's stadium for three years.

Beaumont had nothing but praise for the fan this week after his Sun-hat Villas & Resorts fulfilled their three year commitment as stadium sponsors of Ashby Avenue by confirming they were on board for the 2016-17 season.

Sun-hat Villas & Resorts kicked off their sponsorship in 2014, the deal providing a substantial boost in annual income for the EVO-STIK NPL First Division South club to target promotion and improve facilities.

Beaumont, pictured right alongside United’s Allen Crombie and Jenkins, centre, said: “Peter started as a keen supporter, then joined the committee where his business experience was invaluable to us. Regrettably, his business commitments meant he could not continue with the committee but his company’s long-term sponsorship and his personal support of the club have been a great asset to us.

"We need more people like Peter involved with Lincoln United and that will be a main feature of my chairmanship moving forward.”

Founded in 2001 by experienced travel professional Jenkins, Sun-hat are a leading ABTA luxury holiday rental agency offering a range of exclusive villas, spectacular modern properties and ‘romantic bolt-holes’ in Barbados, Italy, Lanzarote, Portugal and Spain’s Balearic Islands.

Despite his work taking him out of the country for much of the football season, Jenkins attends as many games as he can and keeps in touch with Whites news on Twitter.

The travel boss said: “I am pleased that the partnership between Sun-hat and Lincoln United has been of benefit to the club and enabled them to make progress on the field and off it. Everyone at the club works so hard and I would encourage other businesses in the local area to get behind them to keep the club moving forward.”
