Stafford Rangers make double signing

Stafford Rangers have made two new additions to their squad, including the return of a familiar face.

Fan favourite Derek Ubah joins Rangers for his second spell, having featured for the club last season before stepping away from the game to focus on his profession.

The former Belper Town defender goes straight into contention for the visit of Ashton United on Tuesday night.

Stafford have scored just 16 goals in 18 matches this season - lower than any other side in the Northern Premier League - and in their bid to provide a greater threat in the final third, 6'5 striker Lewis Porter has joined the club.

The 19-year-old is the son of former Port Vale legend Andy Porter and spent many of his younger years with the Football League side.

Having returned from studying in Scarborough earlier this year, he linked up with Kidsgrove Athletic and scored twice for the Pitching In NPL West Division side.

Now Porter has stepped up to the Northern Premier League as newly-appointed boss Dave Cooke continues to assemble his squad as they look to stave off relegation.

Their squad has also been strengthened by the arrival of talented playmaker Sean Cooke - son of Dave.
