Strongmen returning in numbers for new event

Following the success of last year’s Yorkshire Strongman competition at Westfield Lane, EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Frickley Athletic’s ground has been booked to host the Strongman Four Nations Masters Team Event 2015.

The Premier Division's Blues announced on Monday that fans of the competition from across the country are expected to flock to Westfield Lane on Sunday 5 April to see the three-man teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales in action.

They'll compete in seven events – Axle press, 18” Deadlift, Farmers Walk, Arm over arm, Atlas Stones, Yoke and Tug of war - and organisers say they'll be a bar and refreshments available throughout the day from 11am along with various stalls featuring a variety of clothing, supplements, training equipment and sponsorship promotion.

Tickets are priced at £5 with the events getting underway from noon.
