Ilkeston manager Kevin Wilson is all set to give Notts County loan signing Greg Tempest a baptism of fire against FC United of Manchester on Saturday.

The promising young midfielder has joined the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division Robins on a month's loan from the League One Magpies.

Tempest, 18, is a first year professional who has broken into Keith Curle's first team squad at Meadow Lane. Wilson is confident the teenager will be able to cope with arguably the biggest game of his career so far with more than 1000 supporters expected at the New Manor Ground.

Wilson said: "We have a good working relationship with Notts County and they were happy to let us have Tempest on loan for a month because believe they feel it will be good for his progression.

Wilson also hinted that more new signings could be on the way as he is facing a midfield headache with Laurie Wilson suspended for next week’s game against Matlock Town after picking up five bookings and Dion Chambers having moved on.

"Competition for places is a healthy thing in any football club and I don’t think we have enough at the moment in certain areas of the team so we’re really short in midfield," he said.

Looking ahead to Saturday's clash, he added: "It’s a game for everyone to look forward to.Hopefully the players will rise to the challenge whatever team we put out. FC United were very impressive when we watched them play Eastwood last weekend and we will need to raise our game to match the temperature inside the ground."

Supporters are reminded that segregation will be in force tomorrow with the Awsworth Road End reserved for Ilkeston FC fans and the ground opening early.

Ilkeston Safety Officer Chris Parsons: "The gates will open half an hour early at 1pm and we would just urge supporters to arrive early and not leave it until 15 minutes before kick off and expect to stroll straight into the ground."
