Tooth - "Anyone can beat anyone"

Sutton Coldfield Town update, by Neil Murrall

Sutton Coldfield Town FC lost to a late goal at Quorn on Saturday proving once again that anyone can beat anyone in this league.

Royals assistant manager Neil Tooth was fairly upbeat about losing at Quorn on Saturday.

Toothy said, "It should come as no surprise to anyone that we lost to bottom of the league as we always seem to struggle against the teams down the bottom end. We were poor on Saturday, in fact we were very poor but results went our way and we are still in the pack of teams looking to get out of this league.

"It is still in our own hands but it just puts more pressure on us when we play the teams around us and above us. Teams will start getting games called off and pitches will now start to deteriorate and maybe that could work to our advantage with our pitch being 3g. Tonight for example we are going to be able to have a good two hour training session on our pitch and work on different things and I know a lot of teams at our level wont have the facilities to be able to do that".

Asked if we would be seeing anymore new faces coming in Tooth added, "Maybe, we are still unsure as to the length of Niall Cooper's injury so possibly a new keeper. We may also look to get another forward in. We thought we had one in last week but he came back to us demanding to start games and wanting silly money so we politely declined. We are also hoping that Matt Jackson will be back in the next 2 or 3 weeks and that will be a massive boost and like a new signing he has been out that long"

Looking forward to Saturday's game at home to Market Drayton, Tooth added " Its another one of those that everyone will think we should win as they are down the bottom but since Jimmy Mullen has taken over they have picked up and had some really good results. We know it will be hard but we need to go on a run of unbeaten games and carry some momentum into the new year".
