Bamber Bridge moved level on points with fifth-placed Scarborough Athletic after beating Lancashire rivals Clitheroe in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's First Division North on Tuesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

However, Brig had to come back from the shock of falling behind to a second minute Richard Burns goal at Irongate to win. Fortunately for them, Andy Bell took only five minutes to level matters. But it took another 64 minutes before they were able to breach Clitheroe`s defences again, courtesy of Matty Kay. Darren Green made sure with a third goal in time added on.

Lancaster City returned to winning ways with a comprehensive 4-1 win against Burscough at the Giant Axe.

Sam Bailey bagged a brace in the 10th and 17th minutes for the Dolly Blues. Ryan Winder added a third just before the hour-mark, only for the Linnets to respond on 63 minutes through boss Mark Beesley from the penalty spot. Aaron Taylor then restored City`s three-goal cushion with six minutes remaining.

Prescot Cables ended a four-game losing run in the league and moved out of the bottom two after beating fellow strugglers Radcliffe Borough 3-0 at Valerie Park.

Rob Doran`s penalty on the half-hour mark gave Cables a lead that James Gardner doubled in the 59th minute. Matt West completed victory with a third with less than three minutes to go.

Tuesday`s other game between Yorkshire rivals Brighouse Town and Ossett Albion ended all-square at 1-1.

Kane Reece`s 72nd minute breakthrough looked to have given fourth-bottom Albion a vital win but Tom Matthews grabbed a last-gasp point for the hosts from the spot in stoppage time.
