Sutton Coldfield Town moved a point clear at the top of the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's First Division South table after securing a late 2-0 win over a Gresley FC side who started the evening in third spot, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

There wasn't an awful lot to choose between the two sides until the Royals finally managed to break the deadlock with just 12 minutes remaining through sub Craig Marshall. And six minutes later Jordan Nadat doubled Sutton Coldfield`s lead.

Mickleover Sports leap-frogged the Moatmen into third after beating struggling Rainworth Miners Welfare at the Raygar Stadium.

Jacob Hazel gave the hosts a 32nd minute lead but they found the Wrens a tough nut to crack and had to wait until injury-time at the end of the game to make sure of the points with a second from Karl Ashton.

Lincoln United made it ten games unbeaten in the league and moved into the top five for the first time after beating Coalville Town 4-1 at Ashby Avenue.

However, United had to come back from being an early second minute goal behind when new signing Sam Brooks scored from the game`s first corner. Kallum Smith equalised in the 18th minute and 11 minutes later Scott Ruthuen put the home side ahead. Ruthuen made it 3-1 after 65 minutes with his second of the game and Andy Toyne added a fourth in stoppage time.

Bottom-markers Kidsgrove Athletic lost for a twelfth time in eighteen matches, going down to a 2-1 defeat at Sheffield FC.

But Peter Ward`s side got off to a good start when one of several recent signings, the experienced Dave Macpherson, put them in front after 28 minutes. And Grove held that lead until the 68th minute when Liam Bryan levelled. Then, 15 minutes from time, James Knowles scored what proved to be Club`s winner.

Chasetown are having an indifferent campaign to date, and suffered a 4-0 home drubbing by Romulus.

Luke Keen put the Roms in front after 12 minutes but it wasn`t until the final 20 minutes that the visitors ran away with it, Courtney Baker-Richardson adding a brace in the 70th and 78th minutes and then Scott Meer making it 4-0 in the final seconds.
