Farsley Celtic returned to the top of the table in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's First Division North on Tuesday night while Glossop North End and Scarborough Athletic both boosted their play-off hopes, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Farsley eased to a 2-0 win at Seel Park against Mossley AFC, experienced striker James Walshaw bagging both of the Yorkshire side`s goals in the seventh and 41st minutes.

Glossop were 3-1 home winners over Tadcaster Albion, taking an early fourth minute lead through Max Leonard.

James Hurtley doubled the Hillmen`s lead on the half-hour mark before Leonard won a penalty and got up to scored from the spot after Tadcaster full-back Josh Grant collecting his second yellow and marching orders. The ten-men later managed a 76th minute consolation through Tom Corner.

Scarborough sealed a comfortable 4-0 win at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium against Ramsbottom United.

Chris Bolder crucially broke the deadlock to give Boro the lead right on half-time. Matt Turnbull doubled the visitors` lead in the 64th minute, and a brace from Jacob Hazel in the 78th and 90th minutes sealed Boro`s win.

Ossett were held to a 1-1 Ingfield draw by lowly Radcliffe Borough, whose Lewis Reilly cancelled out Ashley Jackson`s 79th minute opener just three minutes later from the spot.
