Wednesday's First Division North action review

Padiham and Harrogate Railway Athletic both earned their first point of the new First Division North season on Wednesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

In front of a decent crowd of 246, it was the home Storks who broke the deadlock eight minutes before the break with their first goal in the Evo-Stik NPL since winning promotion from the North West Counties League, Kieron Pickup scoring from close range.

Padiham held that lead and were heading for all three points until six minutes from time when Nathan Cartman grabbed Rail's first goal of the season when he converted a loose ball to level the scores. And Rail could have nicked it in the end with a great strike from substitute Greg Kidd.
