Wednesday's Premier Division action review

By David Watters

Ramsbottom United remain bottom of the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's Premier Division table despite managing to pick up their first point of the 2015-16 season on Wednesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Rammy travelled across to the Turnbull Ground to play Whitby Town having lost all three of their opening matches.

After a fairly even opening 45 minutes in which the visitors had the better of the opening 25 minutes or so and the Seasiders` the final part of the half, the game burst into life immediately after the break when Max Harrop gave Rammy the lead.

Mikey Roberts equalised on the hour-mark but the Seasiders suffered a blow soon afterwards when they had goalkeeper Shane Bland carried off with an injury.

With no sub keeper on the bench, striker Jason Blackburn came on to play the remaining half-an-hour in between the sticks. And he managed to keep a clean sheet as Whitby held on for a point.
