Macclesfield bolster goalkeeping ranks

Taberner joins the Silkmen following his recent departure from Pitching In NPL West Division side Clitheroe.

He appeared six times for the Blues, keeping two clean sheets during that time.

Taberner previously started the season with Northern Premier League side Guiseley, joining the club last summer, but saw his contract cancelled by mutual consent just days into the new season.

The 30-year-old subsequently joined Clitheroe, who find themselves ninth in the NPL West Division and six points off the play-offs.

Taberner's arrival at the Leasing.com Stadium will provide cover for on-loan Blackburn Rovers shot-stopper Joe Hilton, who recently made the move to the promotion-chasers on a deal until the end of the season.
