Nantwich Town sign ‘Moldovan Messi’

Nantwich Town have bolstered their ranks with the capture of former Moldova U21 international Ivan Urvantev and winger Levi Chiduku.

The pair will link up with the Dabbers following the recent departure of club captain Joel Stair, who joined Hanley Town, and Warrington Rylands-bound Sean Cooke.

Urvantev, 25, operates as an attacking midfielder and has arrived at the Swansway Stadium on dual-registration terms from Whitchurch Alport, where the supporters dubbed him the ‘Moldovan Messi’.

Before that, he had spells at several Moldovan Premier League clubs, including Sheriff Tiraspol, who were in the UEFA Champions League last season and are in the UEFA Europa League this season.

Chiduku, meanwhile, will add pace to the Dabbers forward line following his arrival from Ellesmere Port Town.

He started out in Morecambe’s development squad and has also enjoyed time at Kendal Town and Runcorn Town.
